The chart below shows the Advance Decline Index (ADX). The ADX measures trend strength either up or down. When the ADX line, which is green on the chart below, is high the trend is strong. This can be either an uptrend or a downtrend. When the ADX is low the market is not forming a trend. When the ADX line moves above the other two lines DI+ and DI- is can indicate the trend strength is changing either up or down and a market pivot may be forming soon.
